Crazy game to be a part of today. KB started in a typically slow fashion with Dai the only person scoring in the first quarter. Cougars took full advantage of the height difference and KB’s lack of heart taking a big first quarter lead.
The second quarter was a bizarre one with Ryan being fouled continuously on the back court. Words were exchanged and scuffle ensued and both players were ejected from the game. KB clearly suffering more from this decision with our talented (and only healthy) point guard leaving and the cougars losing a role player.
The momentum of the game changed at this point and spurred on by the confrontation 5 different KB players get on the score sheet. With the time dwindling Aaron Freeman takes a jumper from Kobe range... 3 feet behind the stripe. Nylon. KB take a 5 point defecit into the half.
The third quarter saw KB improve further on the score line with everybody chipping in. Mal decided to take it to the cougars massive front court scoring on back to back offenses. Dai hits a couple of triples as KB swings the ball around the perimeter. Lloyd takes massive charge to create a turnover but comes out holding his shoulder and doesn’t return to the game. Dai starts racking up the steals collapsing inside to strip the Cougars big men. The quarter finishes with a Timmy Cowan 3 pointer. Cougars 39 KB 40.
The fourth quarter and full of energy KB takes to the court and Timmy kicks off with 11 points in the quarter including 3 triples. Cougars are shook but continue to use their height getting good looks inside.
The final minute and the score is 55-54 KB. Aaron scores to give KB a 3 point lead. The cougars go to the line and hit a free throw followed by a offensive put back to tie the game.
Dai scores to give KB a two point lead. We foul the cougars and they hit one. KB up 1 point with 30 seconds left.
Timmy gets fouled and goes to the line with 15 ticks left. Timmy, a self confessed hater of pressure free throws misses both. Cougars bring the ball down and go inside only needing two points to take the game.
A cougars player goes up for a layup to take the game and Wes comes from the help side with the biggest block of his basketball life.
Clean. KB ball.
Wes attempts to throw a lob but the cougars get the ball and throw up a prayer.
Airball.
Game.

Mal’s FB status says it all: It’s a celebration bitches. 4 in a row. Hard grind tonight, showed heart and grit. I heart KB.
