Another reason to dislike the spurs

Despite making $2.978 million this year and $3.256 next year, Bonner remains frugal. Former Spurs guard Brent Barry, who is now with the Houston Rockets, remembers a time in Sacramento when Bonner was getting a snack at his favorite spot: Subway. 'Matt had a coupon for half off a sandwich, which said: 'Valid at participating stores only,'' Barry said. 'The owner said we're not 'participating stores' and Matt was like 'Well aren't you a Subway? I walk outside and I see the name 'Subway.'' After 10 minutes, he talked his way to half off a turkey sandwich. He saved like $2.16.' Added Bowen: It's not about what you make, it's about what you keep. He understands that motto perfectly.'"

I don't like either of these teams.. But I am excited
The playoffs have been amazing so far.. But it's about to get more interesting.
Give the people what they want.
And this is the series nearly everyone wanted.
Old school big three vs. new school big three. LeBron James against the Celtics again — but this time he has new friends with him for backup. Tradition rich New England vs. modern and stylish Miami.
Celtics vs. Heat.
A seven-game series nearly as anticipated as the NBA finals (certainly by television executives, at least). This series felt destined from the moment these two teams faced off on opening day. The Heat’s path to legitimacy has always seemed to run through Boston.
Now is when we find out if Miami can live up to the hype. Or if Boston’s veterans and defense are still too tough. We find out if the Celtics can execute at the end of games better than Miami, or if the ridiculous athleticism of the Heat will prove to be too much.
It’s a series of fun matchups — Chris Bosh vs. Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce vs. LeBron, Dwyane Wade and Ray Allen, Joel Anthony vs. Big Baby… okay, not so much the last one. But across the board the matchups are fascinating.
This is a series that is going to be about defense — two of the top five defenses in the NBA. Boston owns the paint and brings help early,
Miami relies on athleticism on the wing to pressure the ball handler, they trap and disrupt. These two teams regular season affairs were largely low-scoring, half court, grind-it-out games that looked like playoff basketball even though the playoffs were a distant dream at the time.
But in a lot of ways this series will be about the Celtics ability to exploit their mismatches. Can Rajon Rondo rip up Mike Bibby? Can the Celtics bench extend leads? Will Shaquille O’Neal play and if he does how much does he have to really give?
Usually in the NBA teams have to struggle a little in the playoffs to advance, they need to learn how to win together before a title can be theirs. This Boston team — with its veteran when they got together — was the exception to the rule. They won out of the gate (and taught the Lakers hard lessons about winning together, something L.A. clearly took to heart).
It feels like Boston could teach Miami that same lesson. But it will not be simple. Wade has learned that lesson — he has a ring, too — and will steady the ship. LeBron is hungry and still the best player in the game. Bosh is just happy to be out of the first round, so he doesn’t fit with the others. But you get the idea.
This is what basketball is about. A clash of athleticism and style, a battle of systems and guys who just destroy defensive systems with their skill.
This is what we’ve all been waiting for. We get what we want, which means the winner of this series is the fans.

So everyone knows the story. 61 points to remember his recently murdered Grandfather.. but since my second favourite CP3 is killing Kobe right now, I figured I'd post it up.

So Weezy really likes the LA Clippers. Like really really likes them. So much so, that he bet me £140 that 1) Griffin would get ROY 2) The Clippers would get a better regular season record than the Oklahoma Thunder and 3) That the Clippers would go further than in the playoffs than the Thunder.
And no, I'm not joking, he actually believed that was going to happen.
I can't believe it either. But the dances I got with my winnings put a smile on my face.
What I will say about the losing record, non playoff Clippers is they do have the most attractive fans.
That's 18 year old Sports Illustrated Model & Rookie of the year Kate Upton. Doing the Dougie (sort of).

So Spike tv's Auction Hunters this week was about a storage company who auctioned off a bunch of crazy shoes because someone didn't pay their bill.
Among the shoes were tiffs, pusheads, 1's, 3's and 13's.
But this bothers me:
Those aren't fusion iv's they are laser iv's! SMH.
Dicks.
And Tiffanys, although a big release..
Were def not the most sought after shoe in history.
What about the floms, or kid robots?
Or of course....
I rest my case.

We’re going to miss the Tim Duncan era Spurs.
Yes, likely will get one more win in their first round series, Wednesday night at home. They are fully capable of that. But it will be fools gold — just like this entire season. This was the season the Spurs seemed to reinvent themselves as a savvy, offensively-focused team. A team that relied on two quick players out on the perimeter in Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker. Tim Duncan could still do enough in the middle to make it work. The role players were better.
It didn’t work. Make no mistake, this series where the Memphis Grizzlies have pushed the Spurs around like a cat with a ball of yarn has signaled the end of the Duncan-era Spurs as a championship team.
Technically the era will linger on for another season or two before it’s broken up and sold for parts. But those seasons will feel a lot like a sadder version of the past couple seasons, where you had the feeling San Antonio was not a contender. On paper you thought they could recapture the magic of the 2007 title run, but when you watched them play you were not so sure.
Now you watch and you’re sure. It’s not happening.
Even the brilliant Spurs blog 48 Minutes of Hell recognizes it. There was one play in this series, where the usual spark of the team Ginobili didn’t even try to close out on a corner three where it hit them this team is no longer that title team.
Those title teams defended like mother wolverines protecting their young. These Spurs — all season long — have played just enough defense to get by.
We bought into the fool’s gold that was the 61 wins and the up-tempo offense that came out of the gate on fire this season. We wanted to believe, because the Duncan era Spurs were not boring — as some uniformed columnists wanted to say — they were pure, efficient basketball. They made the smart plays, the good basketball plays. Consistently. Every time down. They did the right thing and knocked down the look when they got it. If you love basketball you had to love the simple purity of their game.
But these Spurs do not play good defense. And in the payoffs, where they used to be the physical team that could push you around, now they are getting punked inside. Duncan is getting what he can out of his aging body, but DeJuan Blair just doesn’t have the size and Matt Bonner doesn’t bang. Tiaggo Splitter tried in Game 4 but it was too little, too late.
The Grizzlies look more like the title Spurs teams — they are controlling the paint, contesting shots on the wing and getting the offense from whatever matchup they can exploit (usually Zach Randolph against anyone).
Duncan looks his age now. He has all season but it was masked by tempo and wins, and we didn’t want to see it. But all season long when the Spurs ran into the league’s big front lines — like the Lakers — Duncan struggled. Memphis is big up front. Contenders always are.
Duncan has taken years of physical pounding in the post and he’s not the player he once was — still very good, but not dominant. And there is nobody anywhere near David Robinson’s quality around him in the post. He has no help.
The Spurs as contenders are done. The Grizzlies have put the nails in the top of that coffin. San Antonio may again win 50+ regular season games next season. There may be flashes of the old magic. But we know that they cannot sustain it for seven games against a quality opponent.
It’s over for the Spurs.
Someday all basketball fans hopefully will look back at their cool efficiency on the way to four titles and realize just how special those teams were.
But for now, for today, we’re just sad about he end of an era.

Final thoughts
We shouldnt think we are bigger and better than any team we play against. On a couple of occasions we turned up to games thinking we already won and then lose. We need to play more as a team and listen to the coach. But we all including the coach should play to our strenghts and not weaknesses which i think contributed to a couple of L's this season aswell...Bad decisions made on and off the court.
Dont let people play who owe he club money. We need to focus on the good players we have and forget the players who let the club and us players down this season. You know who i mean.
We shouldnt be in a position where we dont know if our club can finish the season. Now that is ridiculous

Ok I'm gonna be too drunk/hung over/busy eating chocolate tomorrow so you get to hear from Mitchell 4 hours early.
